Lovely, cozy café serving the tastes of Istanbul. Warm service from folk who clearly love what they’re putting into the world. And for good reason! Everything was delicious. Baklava was undeniably exceptional. Don’t sleep on the savory items though. Everything we ordered was cut for sharing, and was a perfect light lunch for our party of 3. Coffee and tea are served just like in Istanbul. Highly recommend dining in. Love this spot!! We’ll be back again.
What is it about Ashuri Baklava Cafe that I find so appealing? I usually order my items to-go here, and that's fine, but somehow the atmosphere at the cafe is so calm and welcoming, it feels really good to sit down and relax while eating my baklava, and drinking my Turkish coffee from a lovely porcelain cup. it's a small space so I don't stay long, but I'm going to try and 'snack in' more often. I've tried all the baklava flavors, and although they're all wonderful, the chocolate is my favorite. TIP: They offer a decaf regular flavor Turkish coffee.
Turkish baklava and Turkish coffee are very good. An exquisite place to try ethnic middle eastern flavors in Bellingham. Fresh Turkish delight and Turkish Halva can be preferred with tea service. You can try the traditional Turkish breakfast. I highly recommend the combination of Turkish bagel, feta cheese, olives and tea. You can also buy boutique Turkish souvenirs at affordable prices. You can choose rugs with Anatolian motifs. Freshly brewed Turkish coffee can also be considered as a souvenir. If you want to experience something affordable and from different cultures, visit this place.
There is currently construction going on outside, but don't let it scare you away. It's worth the stop! I got a single cardamom coffee (you should get the double) and a pistachio baklava. Phenomenal!
Turkish black tea was very good and the baklava is out of this world. Melt in your mouth delicious goodness (tried walnut and pistachio and while they were both excellent the pistachio one came up on top for me). Place itself is tiny with few seating options but we got lucky at a quiet time with a table. Lovely Turkish decorations and cozy vibe. Definitely coming back here!
